Hi everyone,

I’m writing because I just joined an important campaign to stop the tar sands in Canada–and I want you to join me.

It only takes a minute to sign the petition: www.350.org/take-a-stand

If you haven’t heard of the tar sands, they’re a massive operation that many people call the most environmentally destructive project on the planet. Right now, President Obama is considering signing a permit to allow the development of a new pipeline that would pump over a million gallons of dirty tar sands oil from Canada to the United States every day.

Let’s make sure we stop this project and help move the world beyond fossil fuels.

Sincerely,

Alexandra Hammond

For Tom Friedman’s take, check out his column in the New York Times. He’s fired up.

Or take it straight to the top and call President Obama!
